Please note that there have been a couple of changes to the event programme (primarily driven by availability of guest speakers ). The programme until Christmas now looks as follows.
Following the recent committee meeting, I have added a little bit more detail to the competitions dates page further defining the topics for this years remaining competitions.
Congratulations to club members David Mellor and Andy Gilbert, each having recent success in external competitions.
Andy Gilbert recently celebrated double success with 2 of his entries into the "Stockton Heath Festival – Photographic Competition" earlier in July. The subject was “Nightlife” and Andy took first prize (£30) for the "Judges Choice" with his image “Rockin’ at the Parr Hall” and another £30 first prize – for the "Peoples Choice" (voted by the public), “Liverpool-Albert Dock”. Andy said he was delighted and surprised, especially with two wins and it also being the first time he has entered this annual competition.
Following the committee meeting last night, please note that there has been a minor amendment to the club programme, namely 24th October and 7th November events have been switched. This is due to the similarity between the events on 10th October (low light workshop) and the original scheduled event for the 24th (outdoor low light - light painting). The 24th October will now be a lecture (subject TBC)
The Club held its first competition of the Club year last night, with a much improved entry in the print category. Over all 29 prints were judged last night, along with 39 digital images - marked change from the normal balance of images. It was great to see so many newcomers to the print competition (myself included as these were my first print entries).
The competition was judged by Janice Barton CPAGB BPE2 from Warrington Photographic Society. Points scored count towards the Photographer Of The Year competition. The winners and placings were as follows:-
I have added a new sidebar feature to show the next 4 or 5 events in the club programme. Click on the links for further details of the event, and a calendar view with many options. The styling will change to bring it into line with the rest of the site as I work on the content.
As agreed at the AGM, the club fees have been increased for the coming year. A breakdown of the pro-rata fees for joining part way through the year are shown on the "Join Us" page.
The club entered in the recent LCPU Inter Club competition. We submitted entries in the DPI Open and Mono categories. We finished joint 31st out of 42 in the DPI Open category, and joint 36th out of 42 in the Mono category.
Spring time is almost here, and it's the ideal time to take a few photos for the St Rocco's calendar. We are still gathering images for the 2017 calendar and the theme for the 2017 calendar is 'Warrington through the seasons'.
