Location Shoot - "Another Place":
A trip to Crosby beach to visit the Antony Gormley art installation called "Another Place". In addition to the well-photographed scupltures, there are sand dunes, seascapes, a marina, the Mersey estuary, shipping lanes, one of the largest off-shore wind farms in the Irish Sea, in short lots of opportunities for great photographs.
Please note the meeting time will be announced in the next newsletter, taking into account tide and sunset times. Of course you can arrive any time that suits you, but the group will be at the meeting point at the designated time.
The meeting point will be on the car park in front of the Crosby Coastguard Station, Hall Road West, Crosby, L23 8SY

Member's Work Night - Theme "Club Nights":
*** PLEASE NOTE - EVENT SUBJECT TO CHANGE *** dur to having to amend our schedule, which has resulted in two member's work nights in close proximity, we are looking to repeat last years successful event where the top 5 placed in the Photographer Of The Year competition are invited to speak on their winning images. We are just awaiting confirmation of availability of the particpants. Look out for the club newsletter for details of any changes to the programme.
For this session we are encouraging that member's work should reflect images taken on club nights, be they location shoots, table top sessions, model nights or whatever (current or past).
That way club members that weren't present, or prospective new members can get a feel for what goes on in our sessions, but it also may show how multiple photographers have a different take on the same subjects.
We are asking that each member submits a maximum of 4 images, and they will be invited to talk about their images.
We are also trying a new submission method. In order to make life easier for Tim on the night, and to ease the prospect of IT issues cropping up at start of the meeting, we are asking that images be submitted by email wherever possible, preferrably a week prior to the event (by 15th May - not the usual 2 weeks prior for competition entries and not as strict on timings).
Images should be appropriately named to identify author and title, in the usual 1024 x 768 dimensions and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will of course still accept images on the night on a USB drive, but members are encouraged to use the new email submission process if possible.
